Henry Ford being awarded a medal by some Nazi officials before the US joined the war. I'm sure he denounced the Nazis later. What attracted him was the idea of a perfected being, the white Aryan superman was going to be created by selectively breeding humans to get rid of crime, poverty, and brown people.
I grew up believing that Ford invented the automobile. No way, he invented or popularized mass production. A similar myth exists regarding Robert Fulton, who I grew up thinking had invented the steamship. Actually, he was just the guy who created the market for this device.
Fulton was a charismatic individual who had a certain sway over people. He got Napoleon Bonaparte to commission him to design a submarine. I think that's how he broke into engineering. Before that, he was a painter or something.
In the pneumatic 1930s, a descendant of someone who had been related to Fulton's in-laws by marriage claimed to be Fulton's "last living descendant". This someone was Palmer Hartell Crary, who was in fact descended directly from steamship captains who had made a fortune working New York harbor. Crary built a compressed air powered boat, the "Robert Fulton of Miami" which was supposed to replenish its own air tanks with windmills mounted on the boat.
Crary was a real estate developer who probably never had to work for a living. Like many inventors, he left no descendants. I don't know what became of his invention. Among the investors were two policeman. His father had been a New York City cop, his grandfather filthy rich. He had several patents.

I knew the Bush family was a Nazi supporter, learning about the involvement of these other corporate scumbags knocked my socks off. I'm too busy painting right now to do anybody any good on this forum, and sick on top of that. But every day I am grateful that I got a chance to bring this information (air cars and the energy of compressed air) to light, with a lot of help from a lot of people. I am happy to have had so many visits on this site recently, up to 116 guests in a 24-hour period, which is a record. Someone must have put up a link to this site. Trying to relax and patiently wait for my karma, if any, to catch up with me, be it bad or good. While I watch the collapse of western civilization...from the East.
